Description

A very rare and not yet finally described species from northern Ecuador, where it grows in shady forests. This rather large Zamia get a up to 1.5 meters tall trunk and forms at the age often several "heads" from. The petioles are covered with small spines and the numerous narrow, lance-shaped leaflets have toothed edges slightly. An extremely attractive species already as a young plant, which was discovered only recently. The plants are similar Zamia lindenii, but the blade segments are considerably wider and the seeds have yellow-white sarcotesta (sarcotesta at Zamia lindenii is red-pink). Seedlings of this species are to my knowledge the first time in the trade - treat yourself to this gem at a very reasonable price!
