Description

Excellent palm and quiet frost resistant. It grows in natural habitat on steep rocky slopes (North end of Guadalope Island, off the west coast of Mexico). It grows to about 10m tall. It is the only Brahea not to have persistant dead leaves. Dislikes high humidity. This palm is proving quite successful in our warmer winters , some UK specimens having reached trunking size over 10 years. Good sized established plants have been known to survive -6C and even to recover from lower temperatures. It is generally regarded as being the fastest growing Brahea, and once established and with greater size seems to increase its resistance to cold.
