A gorgeous smallish palm, with leaves uniquely mottled, pinwheel like, with a subtle variegated appearance, somewhat similar to that of it's rare cousin, the Licuala mapu. The Lanonia though is much faster growing, and considerably more cold hardy, down to at least 27 °F. Consider this one too, for that special indoor location in a decorative container. Grow these in mostly shade to filtered sun, in a well draining potting soil. Water regularly in warmer months. Will do very well in a courtyard, warm shaded patio, or that special indoor location where an interesting and colorful conversation piece is desired.
